The Name in Wrinkle Smoothing Injectables
Repeated facial movements result in wrinkles. Youthful skin bounces back into place, unlike more mature skin. We lose collagen and elastin as we age, which causes the lines to become more permanent and even deeper. There are several anti-aging treatments used to reduce the amount of facial muscle movement, preventing wrinkles from forming. This will allow your skin to restore its youthfulness. You can easily keep your skin looking youthful and smooth, just the way you want it, by visiting our medical spa for Juvéderm® dermal fillers in the Baton Rouge, Hammond, and New Orleans area.*

How Juvéderm Works
Juvéderm is placed using small injections under the skin to reduce wrinkles and folds on the face.* It is used most effectively to lift and contour cheeks, smooth lines, and plump lips.* Because Juvéderm is a simple, non-surgical treatment, there is minimal recovery or downtime. You can easily make an appointment to stop by your health care professional’s office for treatment and return to your life right away!

How Are Juvéderm Treatments Performed?
Juvéderm should always be administered by an experienced professional in order to get the best results. A professional experienced with injectables will know how deep to inject the product, where to focus the injections, and how to provide a safe and comfortable atmosphere. Juvéderm injectables are an excellent alternative to plastic surgery when you’re looking to refine your current look. Dr. Daugherty combines fillers to create a “liquid facelift” for patients who aren’t ready for a surgical facelift. The best way to know what your options are is to come in and visit for a consultation. During your consultation, you’ll be given the best options in order to achieve the results you’re looking for and an estimate of any expected costs. You’ll also be advised of the risks and benefits of any discussed procedures.
Before The Procedure
A topical numbing medication applied approximately 20 minutes before the treatment to the areas that will be injected to allow for a more comfortable experience during the procedure.
Your health care provider will carefully inject the filler under your skin to lift and contour cheeks, smooth lines, and plump lips.* Following the injection, they may gently massage the treated areas. Your provider will provide an ice pack after the procedure is complete. The injection itself usually takes only about 15 minutes.
After The Procedure
Immediately following injections, it is best to avoid strenuous exercise or alcohol. You may use ice to help minimize bruising or swelling. In addition, your health care provider can discuss topical or oral products to help reduce pain and downtime.
You will be able to notice the results right away!* Only one treatment is usually needed to achieve improvement.
How Long Does Juvéderm Last?
Improvements from Juvéderm injections typically last from 6 to 18 months depending on the product used and area treated.
A Talented Trio
Our 3 board-certified plastic surgeons are proud to offer their unique talents to women and men in their home state of Louisiana. Dr. Jonathan Weiler’s vision of delivering state-of-the-art techniques is shared by Dr. Robyn Daugherty and Dr. M’liss Hogan, who each bring skill, experience, and a woman’s touch to Weiler Plastic Surgery. As mothers themselves, Dr. Daugherty and Dr. Hogan both understand the effects pregnancy and breastfeeding can have on a woman’s body and self-image.
Credentials you can trust:
Dr. Daugherty uses injectable fillers to sculpt the nose in a procedure sometimes called a “liquid rhinoplasty” or a nonsurgical rhinoplasty. Using fillers, she can straighten the profile, smooth humps, shape the tip, and make many other cosmetic improvements with this very customizable procedure.
Frequently Asked Questions About Dermal Fillers
Is there a way to make Juvéderm last longer?
People metabolize (break down) fillers at different rates. When injected into areas of the face that move a lot, like the lips and around the mouth, fillers tend to break down faster than when injected into places like the temples and tear troughs that stay still. Regularly applying a high-quality sunscreen and moisturizer helps extend the life of filler results. Regular maintenance injections provide the best way to keep the look you love going on and on.
How do I reduce swelling after Juvéderm injections?
Swelling is normal in treated areas for about 48 to 72 hours after Juvéderm injections. To minimize swelling, it is helpful to apply an ice pack right after treatment and avoid sunbathing, saunas, hot tubs, and other sources of heat for the first day or so.
Is Juvéderm, and dermal fillers in general, safe?
Yes, these products are very safe when used by experienced injectors on properly screened patients. Juvéderm contains synthetic ingredients, so there is little risk of allergic reactions like with collagen injections.
How long before Juvéderm sets?
After injection, Juvéderm needs some time to completely integrate with soft tissues. Patients can expect to achieve their full, final results in about 2 to 4 weeks.
How do I know how much Juvéderm I need?
No need to worry. Your provider will determine how much Juvéderm you will need to achieve your desired look. The number of syringes varies between patients, treatment areas, and desired results.
