BOTOX vs. Dermal Fillers
BOTOX and dermal fillers like JUVÉDERM® are temporary injectable facial rejuvenation products that have some important differences:
BOTOX

- Takes 3 to 5 days for results to develop.
- Lasts 3 to 4 months.
Dermal Fillers

Before the Procedure
This procedure is relatively easy and can be done with minimal discomfort. Our Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and the staff at Weiler Plastic Surgery will make your time with us as easy and comfortable as possible.

The Procedure
Small injections are administered under the skin to improve problem areas on the face. BOTOX treatments are used most effectively to smooth lines and wrinkles on the face.* Because BOTOX is a simple, nonsurgical treatment, there is minimal recovery or downtime. You can make an appointment to stop by your health care professional’s office for treatment and return to your life right away!

After the Procedure
Immediately following BOTOX injections, it is best to avoid strenuous exercise or alcohol. You may use ice around injection sites. In addition, your health care provider may discuss avoiding using any NSAIDs, such as Motrin or ibuprofen, for a day or so to help reduce downtime.

Results
You will be able to notice the results in 3 to 4 days, but full results will not be apparent until 2 weeks after the procedure. Treatment is usually needed every 3 to 4 months to maintain best results.*

Is BOTOX better than Dysport?

These products contain variations of the same active ingredient, so the differences are subtle. Dysport is a bit thinner than BOTOX, so it can spread farther from where it’s injected. This often gives it an advantage when treating larger areas.
