4 Reasons the Holiday Season Is Ideal for Facial Plastic Surgery

Is there really a “season” for plastic surgery? Some consider early spring a good time to get body contouring and breast enhancement procedures, so you can be ready for the summer. However, the holidays offer a number of advantages for women and men considering facial plastic surgery at our Baton Rouge surgical center.

Facial Surgery and the Holidays

With the holiday season getting closer, here’s a look at why it can make sense to schedule your procedure in the next month or 2.

  1. Avoid using vacation days at work. Save your paid time off from work for vacationing, rather than recovering. For many people the holiday season includes additional time off that can be worked into your recovery schedule.
  2. No need to rush the recovery. The holidays provide the time you need to recover. Even though most patients feel physically ready to return to work after about a week, the swelling and bruising that’s common during the recovery takes at least another week or 2 to completely resolve. That’s important for patients concerned about maintaining privacy about the procedure.
  3. Lower temperatures. The last thing you want after eyelid surgery or a facelift is Baton Rouge heat and humidity. Recovery already involves some discomfort, and sweating will just make you feel even more uncomfortable. In our area, the weather in November and December is more recovery-friendly. Sipping hot cocoa on the couch while binge-watching your favorite holiday movies is something you can look forward to with no guilt that you should be doing something else.
  4. Be ready for spring and summer events. Even the residual swelling that can last for several weeks will be virtually gone in a few months after your procedure. By the time the warmer months arrive, you’ll be looking your best for all that vacation time you saved by having your surgery done during the holiday season.

Because we see an uptick in procedures during the holiday season, it’s important to plan ahead to ensure the surgery can be scheduled at the time you desire. If you’re considering any type of facial plastic surgery and want to book an appointment in the next couple of months, I encourage you to schedule a consultation sooner than later so we can discuss your concerns and the aesthetic goals you want to achieve. You can also call one of our 3 office locations Baton Rouge (225) 399-0001, Hammond (985) 902-7770, or Denham Springs (225) 900-7002 to schedule an appointment.
