Heather Avery, APRN, ANP-C tells us about her journey of becoming an Expert Injector as well as her favorite patient story!

Hi, I’m Heather and I’m a Nurse Practitioner, and I work in the Covington and Hammond location. So in 2008, I became a nurse practitioner and I started working for a breast surgical oncologist and a plastic surgeon, and that’s where I really fell in love with the aesthetic industry, but was not able to do it full time. In 2021, I joined Weiler Plastic Surgery and became an Expert Injector. I have to say my favorite procedure is just facial balancing. No one is symmetrical. We all have asymmetries of our face, but adding filler, maybe even some collagen stimulating agents along with Botox, it just gives the patient a beautiful, refreshed look, restored look, and youthful. I’d have to say my favorite patient was a lady who came in who had worked in the sun for many years, just her face had aged over time, she felt just dull, not real happy with the look,
and she was going on a girl’s trip. So we sat down, we came up with a plan that included fillers,
some collagen stimulating agents, and Botox. When she came back in at her follow up, she had tears of joy streaming down her face. She told me she just had never felt so beautiful, and by the time the appointment was over, she was crying, I was crying, and I knew I’d made a difference in her life. And that’s what means the most to me, and that’s what keeps me going every day.
