IPL Photorejuvenation 101

Do you have sun damage and looking to even out your skin tone? IPL might be the perfect fix for you! Krystal, our medical aesthetician at the Denham Springs office, talks all things IPL — including the treatment, downtime, and maintenance.

Hey, I am Krystal, Medical Aesthetician in the Denham Springs office, and we live here in the South, so we know we have a lot of sun damage. So we are here to talk about IPL. IPL targets anywhere on the body. So anywhere where you have reds and browns in the skin, face, neck, and chest are our most common areas that we treat. IPL is a targeted light that looks for specific reds and browns in the skin to make you more of an even skin tone. You can expect it is a little uncomfortable, but it is tolerable. It feels like a hot rubber band pop is my best description of it. We do make it as comfortable as possible for you though. So there is a little bit of downtime, seven to 14 days at max, so the brown will actually come up to the surface and get darker for about a week, and then it will slough off on its own. We do suggest a series of at least three treatments, and maintenance once every three to four months. If you have pigmentation concerns or rosacea, feel free to come in for a complimentary consultation to go over the next steps.
