Hand Injections 101

My name’s Chelsea Barbay, and I’m a nurse practitioner and injector. Everyone is pretty familiar with dermal filler in the places that we usually use it, mostly in the midface to restore volume and contour, but we can actually use it in other places as well. And so we’re gonna talk about an area today that we use in the hands. It’s beautiful. It really is. It just makes a really more youthful appearance to the hands, very smooth. It lasts for 12 to 18 months. Very quick, easy procedure. I did it on my mom and it’s just gorgeous. The ideal patient for hand filler would be someone who just has volume loss in the hands, and so you’re seeing that age by seeing the wrinkles and kind of the lines and grooves in the hands. So we start seeing the same issues that we see elsewhere with aging, we lose volume and we start seeing those fine lines and wrinkles. We numb you for about 15 minutes and it’s a very quick, easy injection. It’s really over before you know it, and there’s no downtime at all, which is the best. This can be for male or female. Everyone is really a good candidate for hand filler.
