Meet Doctor Daugherty

Dr. Daugherty

Dr. Robyn Deranger Daugherty, a native of Opelousas, Louisiana, joined Weiler Plastic Surgery in 2018. As a talented female, board-certified plastic surgeon in Baton Rouge and Hammond, Dr. Daugherty offers both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breasts, and body. After moving out of state for her fellowship training in Tennessee, she is thrilled to return to south Louisiana to serve its people as a member of our team. She brings compassion, dedication to excellence, and a keen eye for aesthetics to the women and men she serves.

Education & Training

Dr. Daugherty spent 13 years at Opelousas Catholic School where she was valedictorian of her senior class, class president, a cheerleader, and the homecoming queen. She then graduated summa cum laude from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a B.S. in biology and minor in chemistry. While an undergraduate student, Dr. Daugherty served all 4 years on the student council and as student body president her final year. She also was a member of the student orientation staff and elected to the homecoming court for 2 consecutive years. In addition, Dr. Daugherty was selected as the outstanding graduate for the College of Sciences upon graduation.

Medical Degree

Dr. Daugherty went on to Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans where she was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and served as the chapter’s president. She was the recipient for the George S. Bel Memorial award for outstanding academic achievement and for representing the highest ideals of medicine. She stayed on at LSU New Orleans for her general surgery residency where she received awards for highest in-service test score and for excellence in vascular surgery.

An Interview With Dr. Daugherty

What drew you to plastic surgery?

I went to medical school thinking I would be a pediatrician, but nothing prepared me for how much I would love my surgery rotation. I was amazed that instantly we were able to make a change in someone’s life. As I went on through my surgery residency, I chose plastic surgery because of the creativity it allows and precision it demands. I’m an artist and a perfectionist, so it’s a perfect fit.

What makes your career rewarding?

It is such a good feeling to be able to give some extra confidence with reconstructive and cosmetic procedures. I have battled with my own insecurities, especially after giving birth to twins, so I am incredibly empathetic to others struggling in situations that life inevitably hands to all of us.

What are your goals for your practice?

I hope to have a long and rewarding career helping others feel better about themselves. I hope to provide consistently beautiful results in satisfied patients. My goal is to make you look like you—only better—and for no one else to know your secret!
