Sclerotherapy is a noninvasive procedure performed by a Physician’s Assistant to treat spider veins and uncomplicated reticular veins. The vein treatment involves simple injections into the affected veins. The product used is Asclera (polidocanol), which is a prescription medicine that damages the inside of the vessel. Over time, this vessel will be absorbed and disappear.* You may notice improvement in as little as three weeks, but most veins need two to three months to completely resolve. Occasionally, multiple treatments will be required for complete treatment.
There are many benefits to sclerotherapy,* including:
- Ridding unsightly veins
- Relieving leg discomfort
- Eliminate interference with daily activity
- Noninvasive procedure
There are many factors contributing to the appearance of spider and reticular veins, including:
- Prolonged standing
Post-treatment involves wearing compression hose for two weeks, but otherwise recovery is very easy.
We invite you to come into the office for a complimentary consultation to further discuss your treatment plan so you can quickly look and feel your best once more.
