Are you bothered by those wrinkles above your lip? Do you desire more volume to your lips? At Weiler Plastic Surgery, we offer a dermal filler, Restylane®, which improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles above your lip and it can also add volume to the face.* There are three types of Restylane: Restylane-L, Restylane Silk, and Restylane Lyft. Restylane Lyft is used to add volume to the mid-face/cheek area or correct deeper lines to the face, such as nasolabial folds. These dermal fillers typically last six to 12 months.
The injection process takes less than 30 minutes with Restylane® and results are instant.* Plus, there’s minimal downtime. You can step into your doctor’s office for treatment and step right back into your life.
At Weiler Plastic Surgery, we are pleased to offer information about the Restylane® injectable dermal filler. If you have any more questions, or to schedule a consultation, please contact us.
How Restylane® Works
Restylane® should always be administered from a health care provider. Small injections are administered under the skin to improve areas of concern on the face. Restylane® is used most effectively to smooth lines on the face and can also naturally enhance lips.* Because Restylane® is a simple, non-surgical treatment, there is minimal recovery or downtime.
Before the Procedure: Often times, a topical numbing medication is applied for approximately 20 minutes to the areas that will be injected to allow for a more comfortable experience during the procedure. Dr. Weiler’s Physician Assistants, and the staff at Weiler Plastic Surgery, will do everything possible to make your time with us easy and comfortable.
The Procedure: Your health care provider will carefully place the Restylane® under your skin to smooth lines and naturally enhance lips.* Following the injection, they may gently massage the treated areas. Your provider will provide an ice pack after the procedure is complete to help reduce any swelling or pain. The injection itself usually takes only about 15 minutes.
After The Procedure
Immediately following injections, it is best to avoid strenuous exercise or alcohol. You may use ice to help minimize bruising or swelling. In addition, your health care provider can discuss topical or oral products to help reduce downtime.
You will be able to notice the results right away.* Only one treatment is typically needed to achieve improvement, and the results can last for six to 18 months.
